A global law enforcement operation has led to the arrest of four Russian nationals, which authorities accuse more than 1,000 ransomware attacks worldwide.
The business, named “Phobos Aetor”, saw four suspect hackers arrested in Phuket, Thailand, according to Bavarian police. The four people have been connected to the Ransomware 8base team, which authorities say is the largest subsidiary of the Phobos Ransomware-A-A-Service.
Phobos has long been associated with the 8base blackmail gang, which has also seen the area of the dark tissue seized as part of the business.
