OpenVibe’s The smart application that incorporates multiple open social networks, including Bluesky, Mastodon, Nostr and Threads, has just enhanced its future growth. The company announced on Tuesday that it has received an external investment of $ 800,000 in a round led by Czech founders VC, which includes support from the parent company WordPress.com and Tumblr, Automattic, as well as Tensor Ventures.

Czech founders VC and former CTO of Mews Jan široký also invested separately from his business.

Started in 2024, OpenVibe initially supported three of the most prominent open social networks, which operate using different protocols: Mastodon uses ActivityPub, Bluesky runs in the protocol and Nostr dominates a series of third -party applications. OpenVibe later added support for Instagram yarns, as this application was further incorporated into ActivityPub and opened the developer community.

As Managing Director Matej Svancer explained then, the idea behind his application was to provide users a more friendly and “easy -to -use gate” on the open social fabric. Due to the different protocols used by these networks, it can be difficult for newcomers who end up changing applications or limit their commitment only to their preferred platform.

However, OpenVibe does not allow people to stay connected to friends in all these services in a combined timetable, also allows the route to multiple networks at the same time.

With the additional chapter, Svancer plans to accelerate the growth of products, expand the OpenVibe users base, work in integration with other social platforms, improve the user environment and much more.

In addition, Automattic investment is worth noting, as the company historically supports projects in open source spaceParticularly those designed to compete with Big Tech. (Unfortunately, Automattic’s CEO and co-creator WordPress Matt Mullenweg have created a lot of division and drama within the WordPress community in recent months reflection its commitment to open source values.)

Still, OpenVibe’s capital collection marks that there is some appetite among investors to support applications and services that exploit the new open social protocols. Recently, for example, Celeb Investor and Entrepreneur Mark Cuban have submitted a call for the Video Building Building at Bluesky’s at Protocol. Bluesky also increased funding, more recently the $ 15 million series last year.

OpenVibe is available as free app iOS and Android But later expects to introduce a revenue for revenue.
