At Monday’s WWDC conference, Apple announced the new Macos Tahoe, which comes with a series of updates related to Apple Intelligence, continuity with iPhone and the search for Spotlight.
Apple’s new “Liquid Glass” design comes to Macos Tahoe, making an elegant, customizable look – yes, finally, you can make your pink folders (or whatever color you want). Like iOS 26, Macos Tahoe Design Refresh has a more reflex, transparent style, such as real glass. But behind the glittering updates are other upgrades that utilize Apple Intelligence to improve user experience.
Macos Tahoe is more connected to a user’s iphone, showing live activities from iOS (this thing that emerges on the lock screen and/or the dynamic island to show you that the Uber Eats order is 17 minutes away). Thanks to continuity features, MAC products will receive a phone app for the first time, which is accompanied by other updates to the iOS phone application, such as call control and Hold Assist. Live translation will also come on the phone, messages and Facetime apps.
Some of the most important MacOS Tahoe upgrades come through Spotlight, all seats. With the help of Apple AI features, Spotlight will serve the “smart” results, predicting what is most likely to look for, proposing actions based on joint activities or what you are currently working on.

Users can also take actions directly from the spotlight. The DEMO at Apple’s WWDC Keynote showed an Apple executive using Spotlight to enter the theme line of an email and body text and then send it to a recipient, all without opening the mail app.
The upgraded Spotlight also features Quick Keys, which allow users to adjust the short strings of the characters to report a particular action. Apple gave the “AR” typing examples to let you add a reminder and “sm” to send a message.
Many other important updates on iOS 26 are also in Tahoe, including Genmoji and Playground Image updates, AI backed reminders, a new Apple Games app, background and polls in messages and a new Facetime landing page. The magazine application also comes to Tahoe.
Apple has announced that Macos Tahoe will be available in the fall, but a public beta will start next month. Developers can have access to an early version now.
