In an effort to take over YouTube, Tiktok renews the platform of the desktop with the addition of several new features. The company announced On Thursday that its internet experience has a new articulated arrangement, refreshed for you, a new Explore tab, live -screen livestone vaccination and a floating player.

The new social network web layout has a reinstated navigation bar designed to allow a more impressive viewing experience without distraction that is more on line with Tiktok’s mobile telephony.

In addition, streamers gamers can now “go live” in portrait or landscape. Users on the desktop will see a horizontal view, while mobile users will simply be able to rotate their phones to also see in horizontal mode. With this change, Tiktok comes for both Twitch’s dominance and YouTube’s domination in the game flow market.

Tiktok also introduces a new “collections” feature that allows users to organize their favorite videos into custom categories. The idea behind this feature is to facilitate finding and reviewing the stored content later.

For example, you could group all your favorite recipe videos in one collection while organizing your favorite DIY video in another. The feature is similar to YouTube’s “Playlists” that also allows you to save video to review them.

Working surface users can now have access to a floating player exclusively on Google Chrome. The flexible floating window keeps Tiktok visible over other windows, allowing users to multiply while still monitored content. It is worth noting that it is possible to do this with YouTube videos for some time now.

Tiktok also brought the “Explore” page on the Desktop, allowing users to see a diligent content collection based on their interests.

“Our users interact with Tiktok in many different ways, so we are excited to enter these web application updates,” said Cody Puckett, product manager at Tiktok, in a blog position. “By enhancing the capabilities of our desktop, we aim to bring Tiktok’s manual magic to the desktop, providing an exciting experience with greater flexibility so that you can enjoy Tiktok anytime, anywhere. As Tiktok evolves, we remain in dedicated to the all. “

While Tiktok is known as a first first platform, it makes sense for the company to make the desktop look more convenient for its users, as it continues to question YouTube and now Twitch. While Tiktok is the leading small -form video platform, it still lags behind youtube overall, which has 2.5 billion energetic users, so the company has released to challenge Google’s platform.

In recent years, Tiktok has increased lime time for video on its platform and even 60 -minute trials have been detected at one point. Tiktok initially started with 15 to 60 second video support, but now allows users to post 10 minutes videos.

Tiktok also started the tumultures that have been stuck in video and tested horizontal full -screen mobile feature, both designed to facilitate the monitoring of large content content.

Tiktok says that more than a billion people worldwide use Tiktok for entertainment and discovery and that it always explores ways to enhance its platform and meet the changing needs of its users.
