Airbnb began launching a Bot of Customer Service powered by AI in the US, CEO Brian Chesky said on Thursday during the company’s first quarterly teleconference on Thursday.
Chesky said 50% of Airbnb users are already using the AI bot to serve customers, adding that the company plans to develop the trait to all its users in the country this month.
‘One thing I will say about AI [is that] It definitely makes the customer experience easier … It has already led to a 15% reduction in people who need to communicate with living human agents, “he said during the analyst.
Last year, the company told TechCrunch that it is testing technology, but in a limited way for some questions.
“I think there are many opportunities for the AI implementation to the business, we believe that a lot about how AI is going to change consumer experience over time,” Airbnb’s co -founder Nathan Blecharczyk told Techcrunch at the time.
Unlike companies such as Openai, Google, Purplexity and the multitude of newly established AI companies (AI tools that can perform work on behalf of the user), Airbnb seems to adopt a more measured approach with AI. Chesky said in February that the company would use AI to serve customers before starting its implementation for other uses, such as travel planning or booking, as he believes technology is still in his early days.
Meanwhile his competitors Campaign and Booking.com They invest largely in technology, starting with AI features such as construction routes, travel planning and real -time updates for travel.
