As of Monday morning, Claude Code users have been affected with unexpected restrictive limits. Problems, many of which have been shown in Claude Code Github pageThey appear to be concentrated among the heavy users of the service, many of whom are in the $ 200-a-month max plan.
Users only say “the Claude Usage Limit” and gave time (usually within a few hours) when the limit restores. But without explicit announcement to change the boundaries, many users concluded that their subscription has been degraded or that their use is inaccurately monitored.
“Monitoring of Use Limits has changed and no longer accurate” A user complained. “There is no way in 30 minutes from some requests that I have hit 900 messages.”
When achieved for comments, a human spokesman confirmed the issues, but refused to further elaborate. “We know that some Claude Code users face slower response times,” the spokesman said, “and we are working to resolve these issues.”
The change was alarming for users, who received no warning of the changes and no guidance on what to expect to move on. A user who asked not to be identified that it was impossible to promote his work since the limits of use came into force. “It just stopped the opportunity to make progress,” the user told TechCrunch. “I tried Gemini and Kimi, but there is nothing else that is competitive with the total capabilities of the Claude Code at the moment.”
These problems arose in parallel with wider issues on the Anthropic network. Many API users reported overload errors during the same period, and The company’s status page It shows six separate issues in the last four days. Specifically, the network is still presenting 100% uptime for the week.
While loading errors are common, Anthropic’s new approach to the limits of use has caused significant confusion among users, many of whom did not know that they were undergoing use limits. Part of the confusion comes from the Anthropic pricing system, which sets scalable limits without ever guaranteeing a specified level of access. The most expensive Max plan, available at $ 200 per month, promises usage limits 20 times higher from a pro subscription. The Pro plan, in turn, offers limits five times higher from free plan. But the man says the free user limit “will vary depending on demand“And it doesn’t set an absolute price. The result lets users be unable to design around the limits of use, since they have no clear idea of when their service will be limited.

The $ 200 Max plan was particularly popular among the heavy users of the service, with some project promotion as unsustainable for Anthropic in the long run. The user we talked to that his plan often allows him to make over $ 1,000 calls (measured in API pricing) in one day. As a result, no surprised limits for use became more and more restrictive – but we hoped that the company would clearly share the changes.
“Just be transparent,” he said. “Lack of communication just forces people to lose their trust.”
