This month, Chatgpt presented a new image generator as part of the 4o model that is much better in creating text text.
People are already using it to create false restaurants, possibly adding another tool to the already extensive AI Deepfakes tool used by scammers.
Prolific Social Media Poster and VC Deedy Das Posted on x A photo of a false receipt for a (real) San Francisco Steakhouse that says it was created with 4th.
Others were able to reproduce similar results, including one with food or drink stains to make it look even more authentic:
The most actual example TechCrunch was actually found by France where a LinkedIn user posted A proof created by AI created for a local restaurant chain:
TechCrunch was tested 4th and was also able to create a fake proof of an Applebee in San Francisco:

But our effort had two dead gifts that were misleading. For one, the whole uses a party instead of a period. For another, mathematics do not add. LLMS is still struggling to do basic mathematics, so this is not particularly weird.
But it would not be difficult for a scam to quickly correct some of the numbers either with photo editing software or, possibly, more accurate prompts.
It is clear that making it really easy to create false evidence has enormous opportunities for fraud. It would not be difficult to imagine that this type of technology used by bad actors to get a “return” for completely fake expenses.
Openai’s spokesman Taya Christianson told TechCrunch that all his images include metadata showing that they were done by Chatgpt. Christianson added that Openai “takes action” when users violate use policies and that they always “learn” from the use and feedback of the real world.
TechCrunch then asked why Chatgpt allows people to produce false receipts in the first place and if this is in line with Openai’s Use policies (prohibiting fraud.)
Christianson replied that “Openai’s goal is to give users as much creative freedom as possible” and that fake AI receipts could be used in non -fraud situations, such as “people’s teaching for economic education” along with the creation of original art and art ads.
