Google Chrome’s web browser for Android devices ultimately attracts the notable design change made by Safari with the introduction of 2021 iOS 15: It offers a way to move the address bar to the bottom of the screen.
The company announced on Tuesday that Chrome’s latest version for the Android browser will now allow users who prefer modernized experience, designed to be easier to use on mobile devices, to define the address bar at the bottom of their screen instead of the peak. The feature was Previously available in Chrome for iOSFollowing Apple’s lead in space.
Having learned from Apple’s previous challenges, Google is not forcing all its users to change. Instead, it adds a new feature that allows users to form the position of the address line according to their preferences.
To move the address bar to the bottom of the screen, teach long on the line, and then select the option to move it to the bottom. You can also configure the position of the address line in the Chrome Settings menu.
Users often prefer this option as it places the address bar closer to the point where they hold their phone, allowing them to type more comfortably.
When Apple first started updating, some users rebelled against the change, complain that the placement of the rod, which initially fell to the top of the page content, was problematic as it made some websites almost useless. The bar will exclude various elements that users had to use, they said, which required them to push the bar down and off the road. Others just didn’t like the change.
In response to users feedback, Apple moved the line to the bottom, under the contents of the page, and made it an optional choice as opposed to the default.
Google is approaching design update the same way, allowing users to make the decision.
The company said the trait would start appearing on Android devices that start today and will be released to all users in the coming weeks.
