Instagram on Tuesday announced A new school relationship program aimed at accelerating the handling of moderation reports submitted by verified school accounts.
The program is currently available in all Medium and Gymnasiums in the US, allowing schools to report students or student accounts that may violate the application instructions directly on Instagram. These reports automatically prioritize review and schools are notified of the actions taken.
The company says the goal is to help teachers report potential adolescent safety issues, including bullying, more immediate.
Participating schools will include a banner “School Partner” in their profiles, indicating their participation in the program. In addition, Instagram will provide educational resources with tips for safe use of the application to teachers, parents, guardians and students.
For the past year, Instagram has tasted its new program with 60 schools and has worked with the International Technology Society in Education and the Union of Supervisory and Development (ISTE+ASCD) to create the program.
Other US average and gymnasiums can Sign up To participate in the waiting list of the program.
The new program is coming as senators promote children from the Social Media Law (KOSMA), which seeks to ban social media access to children under 13. In February, the Senate Committee on trade approved The bill. US Senate has passed two related accounts: The Kids Online Act Safety Act (Kosa) and Act to protect the privacy of children and adolescents (Coppa).
Instagram has taken other measures focused on internet security. For example, adolescents have begun for users under the age of 16, who have been privately defined by defaults and have limitations on messages, along with parental controls and other restrictions.
