Microsoft introduces a “deep research” tool to Microsoft 365 Copilot, the AI Chatbot application.
There have been a number of deep research agents recently started in chatbots, including Chatgpt of Openai, Google’s Gemini and Xai’s Grok. Their supply is the so-called AI models, which have the ability to think through problems and control themselves-the skills are undoubtedly important for in-depth research on a topic.

The researcher combines Openai’s deep research model – which authorizes the company’s Deep Research tool – with “advanced orchestration” and “deep search capabilities”. Microsoft claims that the researcher can perform analyzes, including developing a market strategy and creating a quarterly report for a customer.
As for the analyst, it is built on the Openai O3-MINI reasoning model and is “optimized to do advanced data analysis,” Microsoft said. The analyst evolves through repetitive problems, taking steps to improve his “thinking” and give a detailed answer to the questions. The analyst can also perform the Python programming language to address complex data questions, Microsoft added and exposes its “work” for inspection.
What makes Microsoft’s deep research tools slightly more unique than competition is their access to work data as well as the world web. For example, the researcher can use third -party data links to draw data from AI “agents”, tools and applications such as Confluence, Servicenow and Salesforce.
Given, the real challenge is to ensure tools such as the researcher and the analyst not to be giving up or do things otherwise. Models, such as O3-Mini and deep research, are by no means perfect.
