Lucid delivered 3,309 vehicles in the second trimester, a 6% increase in sales from the previous season and a new sales record for the EV manufacturer.
Clear Also reported It produces 3,863 vehicles in the second trimester, almost 1,000 more than it did in the previous period. Lucid produced 2,212 vehicles in the first trimester and sent another 600 additional vehicles to Saudi Arabia for a final meeting.
Delivery and accompanying production data show that Lucid has maintained – and even some progress – in an otherwise unstable EV market. However, there is still a significant gap to fill if the company wants to achieve its annual production target of 20,000 vehicles. During the first six months of the year, Lucid produced 6,075 vehicles-leaving the company with a hole of about 14,000 vehicles to fill.
To meet this goal, Lucid will have to accelerate the production of the new Electric Gravity SUV. The company started the production of gravity in December 2024, most of which were sold to “workers, family and friends”.
The client mixture has begun to shift more to the general consumer in recent months. However, the production was “slower than the desired”, Managing Director Marc Winterhoff told Automotive News in an interview in June. The chief executive, who replaced Peter Rawlinson earlier this year, accused pricing pressures and focusing on slow starting.
Winterhoff has quickly mentioned customers’ interest in gravity, comments that are intended to dismantle any concerns that there is a demand problem.
During the company Q1 Enerings Call in April, Winterhoff noted that the company faced a “moderate congestion of the supply chain that has influenced its timetable”. He then stressed that “the most important point is that we take the time to do it right, not only to get it out”.
He said that while the congestion of the supply chain would be resolved in the second quarter and have plans to ensure that the company responds to its production plans for 2025.
Lucid will not comment on the results of delivery and production, including the collapse between air models and gravity. One spokesman noted that Lucid will share more details in its upcoming profit report, which is due to be released on August 5th.
It is also not clear whether Lucid’s new car program and sales in rented fleets have helped to boost Q2 data.
Lucid sold the equivalent of about 300 cars in the first trimester to what is referred to as “rental companies”, a footnote in the Q1 regulatory deposit revealed. At that time, Nick Twork, a spokesman for Lucid Motors, told Techcrunch that despite the use of the term, the “overwhelming majority” of vehicles mentioned in the footnote were sold to lease companies and leased back to the automotive industry as part of a refreshed car program.
