Spotify extends access to its audio subscribers to more US subscribers. The company announced on Tuesday the launch of $ 11.99 per month Audiobooks+ Plan on the market, which allows subscribers or members of their household in a family or Gemini plan to add 15 hours of listening acoustic during the month above the main plan.
Although Spotify started the Audiobooks service in the US in 2022, household members in duo and family plans have long been left.
The offer makes the audio members of the household in the US market for the first time.
Through Spotify Premium, subscribers already have access to 15 hours of listening headset per month and can buy extra hours to overcome this as needed. However, the Audiobooks+ plan gives subscribers the option to add repetitive access to 15 additional hours each month, beyond the existing monthly distribution of the premium plan.
Although this may be excessive for anyone in addition to Audiobook’s most unforgettable listeners, the American development of Audiobooks+ also means that other members in a subscription plan besides the card holder can now have access to Spotify’s Audiobooks list for the first time. This is possible through the add -on called “Audiobooks+ for the members of the drawing”.
With the launch, the US is involved in a handful of other markets with access to Audiobooks+, including Ireland, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, Germany, Austria, Austria and Austria.
The announcement of the expansion of the plan in the US is coming shortly after tough quarter For Giant Streaming, where he lost expectations and reported weak guidance. Spotify CEO Daniel EK pointed out a weaker advertising business as a cause. (Spotify advertising chief had just left for Doordash, the media reported in front of the profits.)
Despite the loss, a bright spot for the company in the quarter was the development of its users. Active users increased by 11% to 696 million and subscribers increased by 12% to 276 million in the second quarter. The goal with the new Audiobooks+ plan is to extract more money from existing customers.
In December, publisher Harpercollins crossed a solution to the problem with the inability of household members to access headphones. Harpercollins CEO Brian Murray said Spotify worked to adapt a “technical problem” with family plans that limited Audiobook’s flow only to the family’s credit card holder.
Last month, Spotify was good at this promise when it first expanded access to Audiobook to the project members with the launch of Audibooks+ to several non -US markets.
Spotify does not share how many of the subscribers of the Premium Scribons Audiobooks besides music or podcasts, but notes that Audiobook listening hours are over 35% on an annual basis in the US, the United Kingdom and Australia. In particular, this is before these additional designs were made available.
The news of the new subscription follows Spotify Monday that subscription prices are increasing from € 10.99 to € 11.99 in all markets in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region.
