Uber Eats announced on Wednesday that it will now allow restaurants and traders to talk to customers to help prevent orders. The app also introduces new AI tools for traders and invites users to submit photos of their orders if the item does not yet have a menu picture.
With the new “Live Order Chat” feature, traders can send a message to customers in real time to do things as they confirm replacements for sold-out objects, clarify special requests and check in dietary or allergic preferences.
Uber states that users cannot start conversations with traders, as customers can only send messages to traders if they have contacted them first. Live order conversation is available for both delivery and picking orders and ends when the food is delivered to a courier or customer for pickup.
The release of the new feature comes three months after Uber Eats opponent Doordash announced the possibility for traders Talk directly with customers to solve order problems.
As for the new AI tools for traders, Uber Eats begins the summaries of customer reviews to make it easier to understand scale. In addition, Uber Eats unravels descriptions of menus objects to help users make documented decisions when they decide what to order.
The app will also use AI to improve low quality food images by improving lighting, resolution, configuration and plating. For example, if there is a photo of food in a take -off container, Uber Eats can use AI to create an image of the same dish on a plate.
In addition, Uber Eats will now encourage users to take a photo of their tradition. The company says it does this because it knows that customers are more likely to order a dish when they are able to see what it looks like. If the photo of a client has been selected and published, they can get $ 3 to Uber Cash if they live in the US, Canada, Mexico or the United Kingdom
