YouTube releases new features that operate with AI to help users find the content and information more easily announced on Thursday. The platform launches a Carousel Search Carousel powered by AI, similar to Google AI reviews and also tests AI with more users.
The new Carousel Search Carousel, available only to YouTube Premium users in the United States, will suggest videos and show brief descriptions of AI issues to help users find what they are looking for faster.
YouTube says that AI fueled search results will appear in searches related to purchases, places or things you need to do in a particular place. For example, if you look for something like “better beaches in Hawaii”, you will see a carousel created by AI that highlights a clip of videos featuring the best respirator and volcanic beaches, along with descriptions and more videos to help you design your vacation.
The new feature is quite similar to Google’s AI reviews, the tool that provides summaries for the search results that creates AI at the top of the Google search results page. While the AI Carousel Search Carousel will facilitate the discovery for users, it could be an undesirable change for creators as they are based on commitment to earn revenue on the platform.
For example, if a person is able to receive the information they need directly from the carousel of AI -powered search results, they may not click on the video.
The launch of the carousel search results of AI results comes two weeks after one Journal Wall Street The report revealed that Google’s AI offenses and other AI operating tools are destructive traffic for news publishers. YouTube creators may be worried that the new Carousel trait could reduce their videos involvement, as well as the way AI’s reviews in Google have led to fewer references to news sites.
As for YouTube’s AI interlocutor, Google’s platform has announced that it makes it available to some of the non -premium users. First started in late 2023, the conversation tool uses AI to help users receive more information, content recommendations and video summaries. It can also be used to quiz in basic concepts in academic videos.

During the launch, YouTube explained that the tool’s answers are created by large language models that draw information from YouTube and web. The answers are designed to help viewers dive deeper into the content they watch.
For example, if you are watching a Skate Roller dance seminar, the Ai Conversational tool will ask if you want to “summarize the video” or “recommend related content”. You can also ask your own questions, such as “What is the song in this video?” And the tool will provide details such as the title of the song, the artist, the genre and much more.
