The application describes itself as the cousin of tranquility or head and its main characteristic is social journalism. The idea behind the social and community magazine of the application is to help people cure together and not alone. The application was founded by Alicia Waldner, which is the founder of a marketing service called Adventure Marketing, and IOS Jason Jardim programmer, who previously founded a start -up called Lounge.
Waldner told TechCrunch in an interview that he had attended a series of mental well -being and heard from people who were looking for such experiences based on the home. He then began creating an application that would include this idea of building the community. To help her life in life, Waldner hired Jardim through the CTO and then brought him as a co -founder.
While existence was initially intended to target Gen Z users, the condition ended up resonated with middle -aged users, as the average age of users who signed for the application was 40.

“The biggest feature that makes us different is the community side,” Waldner said. “Headspace and calm has shown that there is this market -based market, but people still feel very alone in these experiences and in real life. People meditate and then the magazine, but this is a solo experience.
EXIST also offers a question feature fueled by AI that urges users to expand their magazines and explore more of their thoughts and emotions. Waldner says the feature is intended to help people get to the bottom of their problems and allow them to think deeper into something.
