Adobe plans to bring the video editing software, premiere, to the iPhone. The company has entered the app in the App Store with A preparation link and an expected release date of September 30.
The company said the premiere on the iPhone would allow users to edit videos and export them without watermark. The application will have some of the same characteristics as its desktop, including the ability to cut, mattress and perfection frames. It will also have automatic captions with stylized subtitles, support for video, audio and text mattresses, as well as 4K HDR support.
And according to the efforts elsewhere, Adobe brings the features of AI powered by Firefly models in the application: The Premiere on iOS will allow users to create images, audio or videos using text suggestions. The company also opens access to the music library of music, sound effects, photos, graphics and videos, along with fonts and defaults from its photo editing application, Lightroom. The app also has a “Enhance Speech” feature that suppresses the background noise when you record a clip in strong environments.
The premiere on the iPhone will be free to use, but users will have to pay for the use of AI credit and cloud storage. An Android version is already underway, although the company did not report release date.
Moving the company to bring the company’s video editing application to iPhones comes amid rising competition to attract creators who make short videos for Tiktok, Instagram and YouTube shorts. Earlier this year, Meta released a video editing application called Edits, while captions supported by A16Z were converted into a freemium model to reach a wider audience.
Adobe has focused on transporting more of its creative applications to mobile platforms. The company started Photoshop for iOS in February and released a Beta version of the Android app in June. It also released a separate Firefly application on both iOS and Android in June.
