A data breach in the largest healthcare system of Yale New Haven Health affects more than 5.5 million people, according to a legally required notice with the US Department of Health.
Yale New Haven said March’s Cyberettack allowed malicious hackers to obtain copies of personal recognizable patients and some health -related data.

When asked about the nature of Cyberettack by TechCrunch, Yale New Haven Dana Marnane did not dispute that the incident is related to ransomware.
“The complexity of the attack leads us to believe that he was executed by a person or group that has a model of these types of incidents,” Marnane said, refuses to further comment on Techcrunch, citing an ongoing law enforcement research.
The healthcare provider refused to say if he had any communication with hackers or if the hackers requested the payment.
