There are some titles that make the rounds claiming that TechCrunch “moves away from Europe” and closes the coverage of European businesses. This is a flat mistake. It falsifies who we are, what we do and – above all – what we believe.

Recent changes to TechCrunch are not about retreat. It is re -election and reinforcement. This new chapter is fueled by our partnership with our sister, Foundry, which was put under the same property to create a technology entity with unparalleled global scope.

To be clear, Foundry is a force in international technological journalism. Its portfolio includes established and respected brands such as PCWorld, Macworld, Cio and Techadvisor, with a huge network of journalists and deeply rooted expertise in local and regional technology ecosystems throughout Europe and the world.

The proposal that our new ownership believes that international coverage is unstone is obviously false. The whole purpose of TechCrunch and Foundry together is to create a stronger, more world -wide media platform.

Why are we fighting for this rhythm

Europe is where the Fintech regulation has been rewritten, where quantum start -ups are turning from the Max Planck laboratories, where climate technology pilots become the standard for the rest of the planet. In 2024 alone, European founders increased more than 40 billion euros. Many of the unicorn we covered last year were born on this continent. If you are interested in the future of technology, you must be here. And we are.

As we incorporate the advantages of both TechCrunch and Foundry, here is our promise to the founders, investors and readers in Europe and beyond:

  • Radical presence. We will be on the ground-from demonstration days at Tallinn at Hydrogen-Hub Revelation in the country of Basque-because stories look different.
  • Relentless control. The advertising campaign dies in daylight. We will continue to ask the annoying questions and dig for the real story so that it doesn’t need it.
  • A true world megaphone. A major discovery in Zagreb is worth the same volume as one in Silicon Valley. With the merger of TechCrunch and Foundry networks, we will boost European innovation in millions of readers in 190+ countries, providing deeper ideas and a truly unified global vision.

In the Starting Community: Keep your tips, terms sheets and canned cans. Send them to tips@techcrunch.com or our ping encrypted channels. We will hear – louder and wider than ever.

TechCrunch is not receding from Europe. We double.

– Michael Reinstein, President and Publisher
