Developer tools change quickly with AI. Thus, companies that facilitate the adoption of AI in their work flows see an explosion of attention. After a boot called n8n (pronounced “enay-ten”) rotates the automation automation platform to make it more friendly to 2022, said she saw her revenue rise 5 times, doubled only the last two months.

Now on the back of this growth, TechCrunch has confirmed that N8N increased EUR 55 million ($ 60 million) in funding in valuation sources near the company that is told to be in the area of $ 250 million ($ 270 million).

Berlin -based N8N said it now has more than 3,000 business customers and about 200,000 active users in its books. Starting will use this B Series to continue investing in technology and expand to newer markets such as the US, which hosts over half of N8N users. The company does not reveal revenue and the customer’s number includes both free and by paying users, as well as those who receive short and long -term subscriptions.

The Highland Europe drives this last round, with HV Capital and previous supporters of Sequoia, Felicis and Harpoon also participate. Sequoia led the seed round for N8N in 2020. Felicis the A series A 2021.

The start, founded in 2019, took the traction in its early years from the groups of developers looking for low code and non -code solutions to facilitate sewing applications along with ways without much ongoing coding.

Returned for another reason: N8N had built a rumor by being closely linked to the meaning of “fair code. ”

The fair code is an evolution of open source. Software developers use free open source code, but when they want to commercialize the work based on it, it determines the principles for compensating the creators or the open source community. Jan Oberhauser, the founder and chief executive of N8N, came with the idea and runs one location dedicated to fair code.

However, while the N8N itself is built in a fair code and leans into the open source community to develop word of mouth – it has over 70,000 “stars” in Github – the company says it weaves to AI where its missile ship became.

AI, and especially AI genetics, is a clear supplement to automation – something closely competitors such as Tablet and Working They have also embraced, like others in the wider world of automation such as UIPATH.

If automation and low code approaches have deleted some of the busy projects to concentrate on how different applications or services have worked together, Genetics AI brings even less technique to the mixture.

A year and a half ago, Oberhauser said, “We could see this thing that comes to us.” He quickly assumes that the sweet spot would be to work on his products to begin to reduce the amount of work that developers needed to apply automation by converting the instructions into natural language.

“It’s a prompt for making workflow,” is how Oberhauser describes it. “People don’t really need to write 50 lines of code to incorporate its functionality, let’s say, sending an email.” Now in natural language, you can write “download information from X and send it to y,” he said. “We see the value of making changes to it easier.”

The product was built with a mixture of LLMS in mind and the idea is that if end users already create services using a llm or other, it can change to work with the N8N platform. And like many other platforms focusing on developer, N8N has quite extensive contributor community Active on platforms such as Github are involved in forums to help other developers with their questions and create and use work flow patterns made by others. (N8N has also been pre-made of some work flow patterns.)

Even with all the advertising campaign and hope about artificial intelligence and Genai these days, the N8N -powered AI version took some time to get stuck, with almost no withdrawal at all. Then, last year, there was a sudden overturn.

Why? Maybe the weight of some trends they meet. There was an explosion of the AI conversation on coding, with companies such as the pool, the code and the magic to raise all the big money in months from each other. And then in the end users themselves, the song to understand how to use AI also became louder.

But there is a very advertising campaign and we are talking out there, so in the end the ease of use and utility of the N8N seems to be what has sealed the deal with users and investors.

“Everyone is trying to take advantage of AI, but they are struggling to find practical cases of use,” told me David Blyghton, the Highland general, who led the lead. “The design, scale and performance of N8N is what allows people to adopt it.”

Oberhauser admits that although it “took some time to cover the market”, he now says that about 75% of all N8N customers use the AI tools they have built.
