Google’s latest generation video model Veo 3 comes to Google Photos. The new model, available on the mobile app will allow users to convert their images into video into a video clip.
Google Photos already offers a generation of video through the recent “Photo to Video” added, but the company says the addition of VEO 3 enhances higher quality video functionality. The launch also represents how the company works to bring its latest AI technology to consumers through its products – for example Google Photos has had over 1.5 billion active users since May 2025.
It was introduced in May to the I/O developer conference, Google brought VEO 3, which added the image-Video image to the Gemini application in July, making it available to AI Ultra and AI Pro designs. In these designs, users could create three videos a day, which will carry both visible and invisible watercolors to identify videos as AI-created.
In Google Photos, the company looks like users bring memories to life or even for older photos. The existing image-Video function is powered by VEO 2 and allows users to choose a photo from their gallery and choose one of the two “subtle movements” prompts, or a surprise cartoon by pressing a “I feel lucky” button. The model then creates a six -second clip that you could share with others.
The new Photo-To-Video feature is available at The Create Hub, a new section in the Google Photos app, where users can explore creative tools and features powered by AI. In addition to VEO 3, these include a remix option to change the style of a photo. Make a collage? They make up models from your galleries. Creating moving, 3D photos called “cinematic” photos. and a tool to make gifs from photos.
