Google was revealed Three Gemini features for Google TV on Tuesday, including AI-powered visual responses, the ability to dive deep into almost any topic, and narrate sports game previews.
A particularly notable addition is the introduction of visual responses.
For example, if you ask for the current score for the Warriors game you will get live scorecards, along with information on where to watch the game. Users can also search for recipes, and Gemini will supplement its response with related video tutorials.
As presented at CES 2026, Google TV also goes deep. This feature allows users to explore complex topics in greater detail. On demand, Gemini offers narrated visual analysis on all kinds of topics, including health and wellness, finance and technology. For example, users could ask, “What are the effects of cold immersion?”
Users can start these deep dives by selecting “Dive deeper” in the response options or by going to the Gemini tab on the home screen and selecting the “Learn” option.

For sports lovers, Gemini has launched the “sports brief”. This is for viewers who want to keep up to date with their favorite leagues without having to watch every moment live. Users can request real-time narrated overviews of events in leagues such as the NBA, NHL and MLB, making it easy to follow the best highlights and important updates. This comes a year after Google rolled out “brief updates” for viewers who want to keep up with the latest headlines.

These features are currently available to users in the US and Canada. Google has also indicated plans to expand Gemini’s capabilities to Australia, New Zealand and the UK this spring, with other countries to follow.

Gemini first launched on Google TV in September 2025, but was a limited release for select TCL TVs. Since then, it’s expanded to more hardware and received several updates, including the ability to adjust settings via natural language, such as fixing dark screens or audio imbalances, making it a quicker option than going through the menu. Users can also search the Google Photos library by voice and apply artificial intelligence styles and effects.
