Two years after the re -examination of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) on Max, the company returns to its old name. On Wednesday, the company announced the good news in its presentation, with the name change being official this summer.
When Max started in 2023, the refurbished platform was placed as a victory for subscribers, giving them access to 35,000 hours of entertainment, as well as new features, an up -to -date environment and overall better performance.
The name change was made to eliminate confusion, as the HBO Max flow service included not only HBO content but also programming from all WBD networks, such as CNN, Discovery Channel, Food Network, HGTV, TLC and much more. In addition, this change was intended to expand its appeal beyond adult spectators, incorporating family -friendly titles than Discovery.
Despite these intentions, many spectators criticized the name change. Now, it seems that the WBD has reassessed its approach. Instead of focusing on a large volume of different content, the Streaming service gives priority to quality programming.
During the WBD in advance, Casey Bloys, chairman and chief executive of HBO and Max Content, said: “With the path we are and a strong momentum we enjoy, we believe that the HBO Max represents the current consumer proposal.
The shift comes after WBD referenced He took hundreds of titles earlier this month, such as several “90” spin-offs and “ghost adventures”, according to a Reddit post. So it seems that Discovery’s real appearances were initially intended to enhance the maximum name, did not lead enough commitment to the streamer after all.
However, HBO Max is still one of the leading continuous flow services. The company took over its development in the announcement, citing an addition of 22 million subscribers in the past year, keeping it on the right track to reach over 150 million by 2026.
