Spotify on Thursday announced The extension of the Premium Audiobooks service, with two new designs that offer additional hours of listening to subscribers and allow other family members to access the service.
The options are currently available only for Spotify Premium users in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein, after initial tests in Ireland and Canada.
US users could already buy 15 hours of listening as an autonomous bid through an Audiobooks access plan, but these additions allow those in other markets to adjust their access to their own needs.
THE First new planAudiobooks+, offers premium subscribers or those who manage the family or household design to add 15 hours of listening each month above the basic plan. Today, Spotify’s premium designs include 15 hours of listening Audiobook, so this new design doubles this offer, ensuring that subscribers can go through larger books or even a few smaller per month.
The other new design, Audiobooks+ for the members of the project, will be an even more welcome addition for those who want to share access to Audiobooks: Premium Family and Duo Plans will be able to access 15 hours of monthly listening.
Similar plans will later arrive in the US, Spotify told TechCrunch.
To use the operation, the project members will first request Audiobook Access from their plan manager, who buys the new additive. Members can also later buy a one -time compass of 10 hours if they end from listening time before the next billing cycle.
Spotify did not share pricing for new options as they vary according to the market. One spokesman said users in these markets can visit the Spotify.com/audiobooks Page to find out more.
An important publisher, Harpercollins, noted in December that Spotify worked to bring the headphones to other family members in joint plans. At a conference, Harpercollins CEO Brian Murray said the market had opportunities for further development, as Spotify was at that time to process a “technical issue” with family plans that limited the headphones to the Credit Card’s credit card holder.
Continuous Flow Service sees AI as another opportunity to extend, saying In the last quarter profits he worked with Elevenlabs to tell more books, including translation of texts from English to other languages.
Spotify’s list now covers 375,000 Audiobooks. However, buying Audiobook hours, instead of buying titles, as with Amazon’s Audible, allows users to experiment more with what they may want to hear, as they will not lose money in books that end up not liked and not finished.
