Vibe Coding Helps Supabase Nab $ 200 Million In $

In 2020, when the Supabase of the open source database was founded, New Zealand CEO Paul Copplestone could not imagine that he would sit in the sweet spot for the largest trend of 2025: Vibe coding.

But on Tuesday, his fruits became apparent when announced a $ 200 million series in $ 2 billion after the money evaluation Led by Accel, with Coatue, Y Combinator, Craft Ventures and the long -term investor Felicis involved in the round, Fortune said.

These fresh $ 200 million come just seven months after Supabase’s announcement that it raised $ 80 million led by Peak XV (Sequoia Spinoff) and David Sacks’ Crafts Ventures. Supabase will not comment on the valuation at that time, but the Pitchbook put it in about $ 900 million. Overall, the start has now raised about $ 398 million.

Supabase is another example of how commercially successful open source projects can be.

Offers an open source version of Firebase, Google’s Database Platform and hosts applications for up to $ 600 per monthor more about business users.

Supabase combines the SQL Postgres database with other open source tools for features such as features, such as automatically produced APIs, file storage and a carrier tool (which is essential for many AI applications).

Essentially, it is like managing the Vibe database, relaxing the annoying sections of receiving a SQL database that is set as part of application development. Consequently, a popular rear end for Vibe encoding tools has become as rapidly growing favorites.

As Y Combinator Alum, Supabase has become a Go-To tool for the newly established YC companies, Copplestone in TechCrunch. But he really comes to his own with independent and entrepreneurs.

The company had “crazy growth”, especially for the last two years, Felicis CEO Aydin Senkut tells TechCrunch. “His biggest advantage is the community of developers, which has fallen in the past 1 million and increases from thousands every day.”

Indeed, Supabase is now claiming over 1.7 million developers and the project has over 81,000 stars in GitHub.

“It becomes the default rear end for AI applications and myriad other application categories,” says Senkut.

Because it is based on postgres, Supabase has street credits with developers who have to support thousands of millions of users. Postgres has a long open source database for business developers when they do not need the superpowers-and the high price-Oracle or Microsoft database.

Supabase goes so much to have a marketing label “Build in a Weekend: Scale to Millions”

While nothing will really threaten today’s Oracle attitude – it is so deeply integrated into the technology of existing Fortune 1000 companies as much as possible – Supabase’s rise is interesting to watch.

The next billion application harvesting will be developed with AI, AI, managed by AI.

And Supabase is already one of the go-to databases for it.
