On Tuesday, YouTube introduced new tools for PodCasters at its YouTube Live event in New York, including new ways to convert podcasts into clips and YouTube shorts and a new feature that helps create video for podcasters only. Both will be fueled by AI and released in the coming months.
Using AI technology, Podcast video creators in the US will be able to create clips more easily with AI proposals, the company says. This will be available in the “coming months”, and a feature that will turn these clips into YouTube shorts will arrive early next year.
The addition could give YouTube more feeds to compete with short -mold video applications, such as Tiktok and Instagram (reels), while at the same time directing users to podcasters who can find interest in the wider YouTube platform, subscriptions and commitments.
In the meantime, another new feature that is also available at the beginning of next year will help podcasters to convert their content into video. Using AI, these creators will be able to create an customized video for their podcast, the company says. However, the feature will only be available for the “PodCasters” when it starts, with a larger extension designed for later in 2026.

YouTube has focused more on building tools for podcasters in recent years, making pods a more important feature on the YouTube homepage and YouTube music service. Meanwhile, Spotify enters its market with additional support for podcast videos and other dedication features for podcasters, such as comments, polls and Q&As, as well as revenue creation tools.

In February, the company announced that YouTube had exceeded 1 billion monthly Podcaster spectators. Today, YouTube has announced that users, since July 2025, are now consuming over 100 million hours of podcasts daily, with over 30% of these hours starting as live or premiere.
