Rear lineA new safety start that uses AI agents to automatically restore security points comes from secrecy with a $ 9 million round seed driven by stageone ventures.

This is the third start of Maor Goldberg, co -founder and chief executive of the company. He previously founded Whitebox Security, which he sold to Sailpoint in 2015, as well as the Container Apolicy, acquired by Sysdig in 2021 and Aviad Chen (VP R&D).

The idea behind the backline is that developers and security teams are drowning in security alerts.

“The one thing we have seen constantly, almost day, day, is that we as an industry are drowning big organizations with problems,” Goldberg said. “They buy sysdig. They buy wizz. They buy snyk – all these big companies and big names. Their job is to go to customers and tell them where they have problems. The reality is that these security groups buy these tools but no can fix most of these problems. ”

The security teams are ultimately based on engineers to correct the vulnerabilities, for example, or on platform engineers to correct misinterpretations.

“There is always a need for security teams to go and chase someone else in the organization. And all these groups, without exception, just don’t have the time,” he said.

Backline can essentially receive alerts from all these security tools and begin the restoration of many issues. The AI agents are examining vulnerability, create a suggestion on how to correct it, implement the necessary changes, and then try them.

This test step is vital, says Backline and was inspired by how material groups use formal methods to test their products. This, Goldberg said, is the only way to create confidence with potential users.

To do this, the company uses large models of linguistics outside the shelf (LLMS). ‘All of our intellectual property is built around the receipt of where [the security scanning tools] left. There is a high priority problem to be addressed. Host [this is about] Thinking about agents, how you work together and how you bring the right people to the process, “Goldberg explained.

Backline’s ambitions go beyond his current restoration for software vulnerability. Looking forward, the company wants to address software supply chain issues such as finding exposed secrets, defining identity and access problems and static application security control.

“Security delays are now the number one that maintains CISOS at night,” said Tal Slobodkin, a partner manager at Stageone Ventures and a supporter of the founding team’s previous start. “Backline Cybersecurity’s deep expertise combined with their vision for autonomous rehabilitation presents a way out of the hierarchy model through multiple class improvement in speed of rehabilitation. We have not spoke , which marks how important this opportunity is.

The Evolution Equity Partners and Gradient also invested in the seed round.
