Google on Wednesday announced A series of updates on the parental control software Google family link And a plan to test new engine learning techniques to assess users’ ages so that it can apply more experiences suitable for age on children’s devices.

The company said earlier that it would soon use mechanical learning to determine the age of YouTube users for better recommendations, but Google tells TechCrunch that it will also try this trait at Google account level. This means that it will apply to all Google products, including Youtube.

These testing of age assessment model will start in the US at some point this year and expand to more countries over time. Other social media services such as Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok are already using age assessment and verification technologies.

In the meantime, Google’s family connection parental control software also earns some improvements. The app is designed to allow parents or guardians to limit children’s access to content and check various privacy and security arrangements in a series of services such as Google Search, Photos, Assistant, YouTube, Chrome and Many more.

Now the family link is informed to include tools to manage the time of children’s screen time on all Android and Chrome devices, also helping children stay focused on school.

A new feature called Time School will start releasing next week on phones and Android tablets, allowing parents to “automatically restore or customize the child’s device during certain hours, and to limit access to certain applications.

Later, parents will also be able to add contacts to their child’s device and then set the controls to limit the child to be able to call or send a message to these approved contacts. This could be useful when giving phones to young children who may need to be able to call mom or dad or grandparents, but not others.

Google says this addition will begin to release in March.

Kids with Android devices will be able to pay in the store using Google wallet sometime later this spring. Google says that parents of Android supervised users under the age of consent will be able to add a payment card to their child’s Google Wallet so that children can use the TAP and pay. Parents will also be able to approve new cards, remove cards, add gift cards and tickets to their child’s wallet and see the child’s trading history.

Teenagers will have access to more features that work later this year, including one ”I learn about“AI genetic tool that offers interactive learning experiences and AI research assistant Notebook. These are involved in the AI features it already offers to adolescents, such as AI offenses in Google search, AI Chatbot Gemini and search cycle.

Under the threat of stricter regulations in the US and abroad, Google and other technological giants began to introduce additional safeguards and privacy features for minors. In the case of Google, it began to default users under the age of 18 in the Safesearch filter, in limited sensitive ads, age content on YouTube and much more.
