Apple on Wednesday was introduced A new MacBook Air on its website, offering improved performance while maintaining the well -known design. The new laptop is equipped with Apple’s M4 chip, the latest addition to the M-Series chip series.
The MacBook Air comes in two sizes. Customers can choose between a 13 -inch and 15 -inch display. The pricing starts at $ 999 for the 13 -inch model, which is $ 100 lower than the previous entry price of $ 1,099. The ledges open today and the missions start on Wednesday 12 March.
This update keeps 16GB of RAM in the base formation unchanged by last year’s model. This means that the entry-level MacBook Air still meets the minimum requirements for Apple Intelligence. Customers can upgrade built -in memory to 32GB when buying the laptop.
The previous MacBook Air models had two Thunderbolt 3 ports. Apple still offers two Thunderbolt ports, but upgrades these doors to Thunderbolt 4. With these doors, you can connect up to two external screens and maintain the built -in display. Customers also take a Magsafe 3 charging port and a good old 3.5mm headphone reception port.
The camera has been upgraded and is now supporting the central scene, a software feature that puts the person who is currently speaking in the center of the frame. Apple also offers a brand new color called Sky Blue. The three other colors (midnight, stars and silver) are still available.
While the MacBook Air is lighter and more accessible than the MacBook Pro, these benefits come with some compromises. For example, the MacBook Pro offers a longer battery life and can boast of a more beautiful mini leader with a higher pixel density.
Despite these differences, MacBook Air remains one of the top laptops due to the good balance between performance and price. Although M4 update is not a radical change, it is likely to maintain strong sales, similar to the M3 MacBook Air.
Apple first introduced the M4 chip with the iPad Pro in May 2024. During last year, the company has gradually transferred its product line to the M4 chip, with the MacBook Pro, the Mac Mini and the IMAC now presenting M4 chips or Pro variations and Max.
