TechCrunch will be on the ground at SXSW 2025-the annual technique, music, comedy and cinematic conference that began on Friday at Austin-seeking the Zeitgeist of this Ai-Centric Era.
Yup, we are a proposal in and AI has already entered. And why not? A quick scan of the massive SXSW program shows that AI is on the main stage in Austin – and worldwide. It is worth noting that this year it seems to emphasize how AI is applied to the real world, not just speculation about what it could be.
SXSW tends to reflect the technological ecosystem of founders and supporters. And often coincides with the cycle of advertising campaign. Autonomous vehicles, scooter mania, encryption, psychedelic – everyone had their moment in SXSW.
The Department of Technology of the annual event began on Friday and will run until March 13th. The conference begins with various pieces that fall directly into the area of interest of TechCrunch, including the economy of the creator, culture, newly established businesses, health and medtech and energy. The AI track officially begins on Sunday, but they are already cameras. For example, Signal Meredith Whittaker’s president, who had interviewed the scene on Friday, called Agentic AI as a threat to safety and privacy, and a health expert warned that it could be dangerous to people to be very much dependent on AI for companionship.
Deep technology such as space and quantum calculation will also make its mark on the show, as well as the climate, viability – be careful about Rivian Rj Scaringe’s founder and chief executive Keynote 11 March – and transport.
The autonomous vehicles are back, but this time they are on the road – not just the issue of conversation in a group. Earlier this week, Uber and Waymo started a Robotaxi service in Austin. The so -called Robotaxi “Waymo On Uber” service is available to any member of the public with Uber account. And better to believe that TechCrunch will greet these robots and talk to the human Uber drivers about what they think.
TechCrunch will also talk to the VCS, founders and experts in the SXSW industry to get the pulse of how the technological world adapts to Trump’s administration and, of course, to find the next news new thing. We will also pay attention to the numerous key points and interviews with technological and business luminaires, notably D-Wave Quantum’s Alan Baratz, Qualcomm President and Managing Director Cristiano Amon, the founder of Colossal Biosciences Ben Lamm and CEO ARM RENE HAAS.
Don’t worry, we’ll have some fun.
