After 23 years of connecting people all over the world, ConcaveThe popular video call service closes. Microsoft, the parent company, confirmed that the official sunset date for the service is on May 5, 2025.

Skype users can either carry all their contacts and chat with data to Microsoft groups, or they can choose to download Skype data and move to another video service.

To help users in the Switch, we created a guide on how to migrate to groups or download Skype data. In addition, we have edited a list of alternative video applications that can replace Skype.

How to move from Skype to Microsoft groups

Before May 5, Skype users can log in Groups FREE using Skype credentials. Once you log in, all their conversations and contacts will be automatically transferred to the application.

Teams offer features similar to Skype, including one-on-one calls and group, messages and file sharing. While Skype was designed mainly for smaller groups (up to 20 participants) and occasional use, teams are more focused on businesses, hosting up to 10,000 participants in a single video call. It also comes with advanced safety features and various consolidations, such as Evernote, OneDrive, Office 365, SalesForce, SharePoint, Trello and much more.

Groups are available in Android; iOS; MacaroniPC and the tissue.

How to extract Skype data

For users who are not interested in making the transition to Microsoft groups, we are still exporting account data. This ensures that valuable information – such as messages, files and contact details – are supported and can be approached in the future.

  • Open Skype and log in.
  • Click on the three horizontal dots under the account name in the upper left corner.
  • Go Arrangements > Account and profile > Your account.
  • After being redirected to Skype’s Web Portal, select from two Exhaustion Contacts (.csv); Export Caller ID Numbers (.csv)or Exporting files and conversation history.
  • The “Exporting File and Historical Chat” allows users to download Conversations and Archives.
  • Click Submission and Continue.
  • When the export process is complete, click the button Lower.

Here are the best Alternative Skype solutions

Google meets

An obvious benefit from using Google meets is that it is available for free with a Google account. Since many people already use Google and have existing accounts, the transition to this platform would be quite easy.

Google Meet allows users to meet with up to 100 participants, registration meetings, sharing screens and much more. A disadvantage with the free plan is that if a meeting has more than three participants, there is a 60 minute time limit.

Large companies may want to buy a Google Working program for features, such as up to 25 co-pilgrimage, dividing participants into smaller rooms during meetings, creating polls, creating Q&A session, living on YouTube and much more. The workplace-which has designs for $ 7/month, $ 14/month, $ 22/month, and up-ups also offers tools powered by AI through Gemini’s assistant, which helps users satisfying and creating custom background images.

Zoom

Zoom It is another popular web trading tool. It offers many useful features, including the possibility of hosting up to 100 participants and conversations in both private and public groups, and features tools such as notes, tables and display capabilities. Users can also record meetings and have access to transcripts.

However, a disadvantage is the time limit of 40 minutes per meeting for users in the free design. To avoid cutting off meetings, users will have to buy a subscription ranging from $ 13/month to $ 18/month. Paid subscribers have access to Zoom’s AI Companion, which includes the opportunity to summarize meetings and ask questions about transcribed meetings.

Webex

WebexThe Cisco teleconference tool offers a similar plan to its competitors. For example, it has features such as display sharing, the ability to record sessions, white panel capacity and much more.

Webex also offers designs of $ 12/month, $ 22/month, or more, depending on the size of the group. The levels paid comes with an AI assistant, live polls, Q&A, and the ability to add up to 1,000 participants.

Discord

Discord It was originally designed as a players’ conversation platform, but it can also serve as an alternative to Skype for personal use or smaller groups. However, it is not recommended for larger businesses, as it limits the calls to 25 participants.

On the positive side, Discord offers unlimited lengths and features such as display sharing, recording of meetings and unblocking rooms. The platform has a free plan in addition to two paid options available in $ 5/month and $ 10/month, making it one of the most affordable options available, depending on users’ needs.

Looseness

While Looseness It may not be ideal for formal scheduled meetings with large groups, it can be effective for spontaneous meetings in group talks. The Huddle mode on Slack allows users to easily move from a conversation thread to an informal audio or video calling call with colleagues. In free plan, Huddles can only accommodate two people, while paid designs ($ 7/month or $ 12/month) allow up to 50.

Slogan

SloganThe encrypted messaging application has provided team call features since 2020 and can accommodate up to 50 participants in a single call.

Other similar applications for mobile users looking for video call with smaller groups include Whatsapp; Messenger Facebook; Apple Facetime.
