Newsletter platform GhostAn open source competitor for ustack, is now connected to the fediverse, Also known as Open Social Web. Federal applications are executed in Protocol ActivityPub, which authorizes applications such as Mastodon, Pixelfed, Threads, Flipboard and others, allowing positions published in an application to see and deal with those in other federal platforms.

Ghost said last year that he was working on an integration with ActivityPub, which would allow its publishers to share their blog posts with the wider open social fabric.

The company expects the integration will be released last year. However ghost this week announced The launch of the Beta Social Web, which now allows any site that is running on the Ghost Pro subscription to test the new integration of ActivityPub.

Beta feature is still in active development, the company notes in its help documentationBut it is expected to be transferred to a more definitive situation in the Ghost 6.0 version.

When Ghost Pro users connect their blog or their Fediverse newsletter, others throughout the open social fabric will be able to follow their account handle. This handle is a combination “@index”, which represents the post home page, followed by the Domain Name (@yourselfite.com).

Ghost says users will soon be able to adjust the @index part of @index @index @yourrsite.com.

Users in federal applications will then be able to follow the Ghost Publisher posts, as well as interact with them, preferring, answering or repeating.

To help publishers Ghost also participate in the Fediverse and build their reading audience, Ghost also launched a social web reader. Here, users can browse a “flow” of small format content shared throughout the Fediverse, including posts by services such as Mastodon and yarn.

In a separate area called “Inbox”, ghost users can keep up with large content, such as articles published in Ghost or WordPress, the popular publication platform incorporated with Fediverse in 2023.

“Think of the inbox screen like your inbox. When you follow other publications on the social fabric, new articles that publish will appear here,” Ghost’s help page explains. “By clicking on a post will open an Inline reader view, right in the ghost, and when you get to the end you will be able to like you, repost or answer.”

By incorporating these two power supplies into Ghost’s Admin, Ghost will now allow its publishers to immediately publish small content in Fediverse, helping them build their reputation and follow the open social fabric.

The Ghost reader also warns users of interactions such as sequences, answers, sympathetic and repetitions in the “Notifications” section. In addition, users can customize their profile page to provide a preview of their social fabric account after/followers, as well as their content, both short and long form.

Later, the company hopes to deeply integrate the profiles of users’ social tissues with Ghost members, but for the time being operating independently of each other. Other features that were coming include tools to block, report and mute or add images or in notes and answers.

There are also some compatibility problems with the Ghost reader, mainly with the Meta yarn. The company says ghost users can search and find profiles of yarn users, but interactions do not work because the yarns are blocking them. (The issue is on the side of the threads and Ghost indicates that users report the head of Instagram Adam Mosseri to fix it.)

To test the ghost social fabric, subscribers can be directed to Admin Admin and then allow the beta under the settings and then the workshops.

Today, the ghost is used by several noticeables editions Including the Casey Newton platform, 404 media, David Sirota’s lever, Tangle, Jason Calacanis Inside, SFIST and others.
