As YouTube shorts continue to compete with Tiktok, the platform announces new upcoming features to help creators publish impressive brief videos.

The creators will have access to an improved video processor, the ability to create AI adhesives, a feature that synchronizes the content at the pace of a song, reinforced standards and much more.

The launch of the new tools comes just a few days before the April 5th Ban Ban Ban. Given the timetable of the announcement, YouTube is probably looking for court creators on its platform and exploiting the possible gap left by Tiktok if he is facing the ban in the United States.

YouTube reports that the new and improved video processor will allow users to easily customize the timetable of each clip, move or remove the clips to create a rough version, add music or timed text, and preview the brief to make sure they tell the story. YouTube plans to develop additional processing updates in the future.

The company notes that an improved video processor was a top request by the creators.

Tiktok is known to have powerful processing tools, so it makes sense for YouTube to give its creators access to more than the same tools. In addition, the launch of the improved video processor is important, as Meta is said to be weeks from releasing a “edits” application that is supposed to compete with ByTedance’s capcut.

As for the new AI stickers, creators will be able to create custom stickers using a simple text prompt. In an example of YouTube, a user can create an AI sticker “a strong muscle plant”.

YouTube shorts will also develop the ability for creators to add images to their videos. For example, creators will be able to share different options for inspiration by outfit by uploading photos from their camera roll and turning them into image stickers.

In addition, creators will soon be able to choose a song and automatically align the clips at the rhythm of music. Before that, the creators would have to manually synchronize the clips with the songs.

The feature seems to be similar to Capcut’s “Beats” tool, which automatically synchronizes music in a clip.

YouTube is also going to improve standards, as users will be able to take photos from their galleries and use them on standards. The company also plans to add results to the standards. Given the popularity of the impact on Tiktok, it makes sense for YouTube shorts to explore them as well, especially because they can sometimes create trends.

The new features are expected to be released in the coming months.
