Kia made the 2026 EV4 Sedan debut in New York’s international car on Wednesday, the first global electric sedan and one designed for customers looking for an affordable EV.

Either US customers will be burdened with a sedan is an open question – and a Kia is not necessarily betting. The company started sales of EV4 in South Korea and plans to bring it to Europe by the end of the year. Sales in the United States are expected to begin in the last quarter of 2025 or the first quarter of 2026, a Kia spokesman told TechCrunch.

Kia’s primary step with EV4 is accessibility and with respectable range, internal features and technological touches, it could ultimately give consumers another option. While Kia has not yet shared us, pricing, Some have been appreciated That would start at about $ 35,000, adding another competitor to Tesla 3. Eric Watson, Vice President of Sales at Kia America, confirmed Ballpark’s price range in TechCrunch.

Tom Kearns, led by Kia designer, said on Wednesday that what “many EVs have together is the pricing that leans the highest end, but our ultimate goal is to make electric driving for everyone”.

That is why EV4 is “discreet with technology design” and is accessible even with “many advanced features”, many of which can be found at Kia’s highest EV6 crossover Vehicle and EV9 SUV.

For our buyers, however, that the attractive price point could be at risk. President Donald Trump’s proposed automakers threaten to add 25% to the cost of any imported vehicle – including EV4, which Kia plans to build in South Korea and start in the first quarter of 2026.

Watson noted that Kia was open to explore the idea of bringing EV4 to the US, the automotive industry already has an installation in the West Point of Georgia, where it manufactures the EV6 crossover vehicle and the EV9 SUV for the US market, with SK as a battery manufacturer.

Although Kia has US production and domestic batteries, Orth Hedrick, Vice President of Kia America for product planning, said: “There are still many accessories under invoices, it is not good for businesses.

The Kia EV4 has many things that could make a buyer risk invoices, especially his decent range. The standard 58.3 kWh battery, which has “light”, has a series of 235 miles, and the 81.4 kWh battery, which has “Wind” or “GT-Line”, can reach 330 miles.

Kia said it focused on aerodynamics for EV4, which probably helped to strengthen the numbers of these areas. The vehicle has a factor of 0.23 – the same as the Tesla 3 model.

Both battery configurations provide power to the 150 kW engines. And with V2L4 functionality, drivers can use the car battery to charge devices such as laptops and smaller electronics.

The EV4 also charges with a DC Fast Charger in respectful 30 minutes and the Nacs charging port is on the passenger side for easy accessibility.

Kia also played the i-Pedal 3.0 system in EV4, which records the energy and stores it in the battery, but gives drivers more controlling the speed speed using only the accelerator pedal.

Now, for the appearance.

Kearns said Kia wanted an opportunity to do things differently with 2026 EV4 to break the rule of many EV manufacturers who prioritize efficiency often at the expense of creating a cool design statement.

And looking at it, the Kia’s EV4 has an interesting aesthetics, a business in front, a party at the rear vibe. Head, you can see the low nose, the long -tailing silhouette and the rapid ceiling line of a classic sports car and the back, the vertical taills lights, a two -piece roof spoiler and the elegant design of the bumper give it a more aerodynamic presence of technology.

Speaking of technology, the car can boast of the typical futuristic, minimalist, high -tech interior. The standouts include the two -speed steering wheel, the dynamic lighting of 64 colors, a free -flower environment consisting of a 12.3 -inch double screens and a five -inch air conditioning display.

Like Kia’s other EVS, EV4 also offers the opportunity to enhance connectivity and entertainment features through over-the-air updates, including the addition of personalized viewing issues all over the cockpit such as your “favorite NBA team” for all superfans that love the environment out there.

In terms of other technology features, drivers can access EV4 through Kia’s digital key via their mobile phones, and Kia’s AI assistant uses voice recognition and natural language processing to help drivers control vehicle functions, design travel and much more.

The EV4 also comes standard with a driver’s help feature suite, including Kia motorway driving, which automatically adjusts the speed of the vehicle to match the published speed limit and maintain a distance from the vehicle in front. Kia’s Adas also includes help with the avoidance of a forward conflict, the strip that follows, the remote smart parking, the driver’s attention warning and the steering wheel detection.

This article has been informed with more information from Kia representatives about design and invoices.
