A hacker has exploited a vulnerability to the telemedicine, which provides modified versions of encrypted messaging applications such as signal, telegram and WhatsApp, to export archive messages and other data related to US government officials and companies using the tool, Reported 404 media.

Telecommunication came to the forefront Last week After reporting that former US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz used the modified version of the Telemessage Signal. Israel -based Telemessage, owned by Smarsh, offers its customers a way of archiving messages, including voice notes, from encrypted applications.

The messages of the members of the Council of Ministers and the Waltz were not at stake, 404 media reported, but the data that has been tested contained messages. The hack revealed that the conversation file files are not encrypted from the end to the end between the modDed version of the Signal offered by the Telemessage and the final position where it stores the messages, reported 404 media.

Smarsh, the company holding Telemessage, told TechCrunch in a statement that it suspended Telemessage services and is investigating “a possible security event”.

“During the detection, we have quickly acted to contain it and hire an external cyberspace company to support our research,” read the statement. “From the abundance of attention, all telecommunications services have been temporarily suspended. All other Smarsh products and services remain fully operational.”

A Coinbase spokesman said the company “closely follows these reports and evaluates their impact on Coinbase. At the moment there is no evidence to have accessible Customer Customer Information or Customer Accounts are in danger, since Coinbase does not use this tool for access to codes, the access accounts ”.
