Tiktok starts its first image to Video AI, The Company announced on Tuesday. The new feature is called “Tiktok Ai Alive” and allows users to turn static photos into videos into tiktok stories.
The feature is only accessible through Tiktok’s camera and uses AI to create small -form video with “movement, atmospheric and creative effects,” says Tiktok.
For example, if your static photo has a sky, clouds and the ocean, Tiktok could turn the photo into a video where the sky gradually shifts the shades, the clouds begin to drag and you hear the sound of the waves crush. Or, you could bring to life a selfie team that highlights gestures and expressions.
The launch of the new features of the image-Video comes a few years after the presentation of the AI generator in the text in the image. While both Instagram and Snapchat also offer AI features for creators, Tiktok is now taking a step further offering its users the opportunity to create pictures of pictures. It is worth noting that Snapchat stated that it will soon allow creators to create AI videos from pictures.
AI Alive Stories will have a label created by AI to alert users that the content was created with AI. In addition, this content will have built -in C2PA metadata, which is a technical standard that helps others identify that the video is created by AI, even if it has been taken and shared beyond Tiktok.
“We are always building with security in mind, and so does AI’s innovations,” Tiktok said in a blog position. “As this technology allows new forms of creative expression, there is multiple confidence and security controls for the protection of our community.
Tiktok notes that people can mention videos that believe that they break the rules of the application and that the application is conducting a final security check when a creator shares a vibrant AI story.
Creators can create a live AI video by opening the story camera and pressing the Blue Plus button at the top of the inbox or profile page. From there, you can choose a photo from your story album. You will then see the AI Alive icon on the right side toolbar on the photo editing page.
