For years, large technology companies such as Amazon and Google have been trying to do virtual tests involved to encourage consumers to shop more online. The newly established businesses have also tried to solve inspiration and match fashion using AI.

A new boot called Twin It is now entering this area with an application designed to do clothing tests both fun and socially. This is with the creation of your avatar and then serving you different looks that may inspire you to buy new clothes.

So far, early adoptors were impressed From that.

Only days after Public launch in the App StoreThe company announces a $ 14 million seed round led by Thrive Capital with a seven -six -six business. The funding will be used to improve Doji’s AI models, the company says.

An application like Doji only exists thanks to recent developments in AI. The company uses its own diffusion models to create its personalized avatars and make the test tests more realistic.

The start was founded last year by Dorian Dargan and Jim Winkens – hence the name Doji (Dorian + Jim).

Dargan worked at Apple at Visionos and Meta in games and experiences at Oculus Quest. Winkens was a Deepmind researcher and also worked on a genetic consumer product based on AI on Google.

The twin connected to Twitter/X around 2022. After realizing a common interest in the fashion world, they began exploring sidewalks to work together. Later, when the controversial Avatar Creation Lensa application was released, Dargan saw how deeply the people of the connection had with their avatars.

“Lensa made stylized avatars with different issues,” Dargan told TechCrunch. “We saw Lensa and thought about what could we do for fashion, but in a photorealistic way?”

Thrive Capital Miles Grimshaw said he has been captured by the implementation of Doji since the first time he used it. He notes that diffusion models create an opportunity to create a “virtual mirror” to try out clothes.

“Transition to the web to hundreds of clicks for the store is laborious. Doji has the opportunity to make fun of shopping as it puts me in the center of experience. The app also has a social aspect to make me want to share different looks [with friends and family]”He added.

How is it to use the doji application

Doji, which is still in operation only for invitation, guides users through the reception process of six selfies and loading two full -body images to create an avatar. The application takes about 30 minutes to create an avatar and then alerts you when the avatar is ready. You can also select your favorite brands during boarding to see more of them in the app.

Other applications, such as the Google -supported lock -screen application, the app Made app tried to create a market inspiration with AI using a single image. However, Doji has chosen a more thorough installation process to create higher quality avatars and best fit users with the right clothes.

By default, your app shows clothes that may suit you through a series of appearance with your avatar. You can move to the various peaks and the bottom mentioned on the site and press on them to create a new look for your avatar.

In addition, you can post a link for clothing from the web to check if it will suit you.

In the tests, I felt that some of Avatar’s images made me look thinner or taller than I was. (Doji notes that users have the ability to re -educate Avatar through a new set of images if they do not like their results.)

While the app allows you to try different clothes to see how some clothes will be seen, you still can’t tell you how an item will fit. This is something that the start wants to face later, we were told.

The team also works to do the virtual test process faster and integrate the purchase process into the application, rather than directing users to external websites.

The start, whose app is available in more than 80 countries, did not specify when it will abolish the invitation system to allow everyone to use the application.

Dargan said that what stands out from other test applications is that Doji also offers a fun way to explore clothes. In addition, he believes that Doji is better in human representation than others, thanks to the experience of Avatars design over the years.

“I think people who have explored this idea before nor did they not have the technological steaks to make it good or taste to understand what really makes a person feel good about a picture of themselves,” Dargan said. “We have invested a lot in basic technology to ensure the way you perceive yourself through images are interesting and inspired.”
