Roblox announced on Thursday that creators can now sell natural goods directly within their experiences and games on the platform with the launch of new API Commerce.
The offer provides creators a new way of making revenue beyond virtual goods or lump sums to access specific experiences.
The company began to try the ability to buy natural goods within a Few branded experiences In mid -2024. Last September, Roblox announced that creators could soon sell natural objects in experiences thanks to a partnership with Shopify.
Now, Roblox is making this integration available to all eligible creators and chips after completing a Commerce API Beta closed test.
The ability to buy natural products will be available in experiences of all ages for us users 13 years and over. Roblox plans to add more partners and extend the feature to additional markets in the future.
For brands, API Commerce offers a new way of approaching customers. For example, the Beauty Brand Fenty is going to start an experience in Roblox to offer an exclusive bomb shadow called “Splash Grape”.
Eligible creators and brands can also bind natural markets with digital items through the new API Commerce. This means you could buy a natural hoodie and also get one for your digital avatar.
Roblox (AMP) new approved Merchandiser (AMP) program allows creators and brands to connect their real purchases or to the online store in items and accessories at Avatar in Roblox.
The AMP and the signal for natural products will serve as a sign of authenticity to show consumers that objects are official. Signal products will include a code for a unique digital item associated with the IP they can use in Roblox.
“Our vision for the future of markets is an experience that is more exciting and social than traditional electronic shopping experience,” the company said in a blog. “At Roblox, you can explore virtual stores. Try clothes and share experience with others.
Roblox notes that Creator Studio Twin Atlas used Commerce API in their games to sell natural products and ended up seeing six numbers revenue for the first weeks. About 90% of their total orders are placed through their integration into the game, Roblox says.
