The Amazon -owned ring announced on Wednesday that it is introducing a new AI feature of the bell and cameras, which offers users specific text descriptions of current motion activity.

Now, when users receive real -time notifications on their property events, updates will be more descriptive. For example, “a person walks in the steps with a black dog”, or “two people look at a white car parked on the road.”

The characteristic aims to improve the vague notifications available in the past. Now, users will be able to know exactly what is happening and they can quickly decide if they require immediate attention. It should be noted that AI only describes the first seconds of the video activated by the movement.

The feature is now released as Beta subscribers only for English in the US and Canada. Users may choose to turn off the feature by going to settings in the Ring application.

According to a publication on the blog by Jamie Siminoff, the Ring founder and now the Amazon Vice President for Home Security, the company plans to introduce additional AI features. One of them combines many movement events that occur in and around a house in a single notice.

The ring also intends to apply a “adapted anomaly alert” that allows users to determine what is an abnormality for their property, allowing the camera to notify them when such an event occurs.

In addition, Siminoff said the ring would “learn your routine” so that it can inform users when something is not used. This can be worrying for some users, especially taking into account the previous concerns of the Ring privacy.

“As soon as we start scratching the surface of AI. I feel like we are back in the early days of the ring – I see unlimited potential for new experiences we can invent for our neighbors,” Siminoff wrote.

This announcement follows the recent launch of AI’s AI search feature, which allows users to identify specific moments within video recordings.
