Clear engines are Adjust the traffic An update software on July 30 that will allow Hands-Free Highway to be driven to its sedans, an important step forward for the advanced driver help system.
Growth will put Lucid Motors on a short list of companies that have made it possible to drive without a hand in the United States. Ford has a system called BlueCruise, General Motors has Super Cruise and Mercedes-Benz has a Drive pilot, though it’s not widely available. In the right conditions and in cars equipped with a cabin camera, Tesla’s complete self-leader (supervised) may also use hands-free.
Lucid says the Hands-Free update comes only to the Sedans Air for now, with an update released to the owners of the new SUV Gravity SUV for later. (The company has just begun sending a gravity SUV anyway, with Cox Automotive Reporting this week that only five were delivered in the second quarter.) The system is also available only to customers who bought an air equipped with the $ 2,500 “Dream Drive Pro” package, which includes a “complete 32 sensor suite” including Lidar, Radar, Cameras and Ultrassonics.
The company refused to say how many customers have bought the Dream Drive Pro package to date. Lucid has delivered about 20,000 cars by 2021.
Drivers should keep their eyes on the road forward and be ready to take over at any time, as well as competing driver help systems. Lucid says this will be done with an infrared camera in the car above the address column. They will also be able to use only the Hands-Free system in “compatible” pre-writer divided highways.
UPDATE: Added information on pre-writer highways and infrared camera.
