Spotify Hints At A More Ai Interface Voice In The

Spotify has experimented with various vocal interfaces in the past and more recently, he added an AI DJ that introduces melodies that the company believes you will like and allows you to make your own requests. Now, Spotify is teasing that AI’s genetic progress can pave the way for an even more interlocutory interconnection with the continuous flow service in the future, according to comments made during Spotify for the second quarter, with investors on Tuesday.

Asked how AI influenced his business, Spotify Gustav Söderström’s product and technology manager noted that consumers today are able to talk to Spotify in simple English to ask for music, allowing the company to associate which phrases are related to the songs.

“You can think about it as we get a new set of data,” he said. “Spotify has this unique set of data from all its playlists, which was really a song-song-as the song goes well with another song, the kind of Amazon people who bought this also bought this,” he said. Meanwhile, voice interconnection provides new ideas to the company.

“And this is completely new to us, and it is a very valuable set of data that we collect very quickly,” he added.

As a result, the exec says we can expect Spotify consumer experiences to get “much more interactive”.

“You can already write to Spotify, talk to Spotify. You will just see that you are expanding,” Söderström said.

In addition, AI technology would allow Spotify to do more than just predict what one might want to hear, either music, podcasts or audiobooks, as it is today. Instead of making only predictions, it would be able to “reason” above the user’s listening history and what they said on AI DJ. Reference to reasoning suggests that Spotify is looking at AI logic models that can perform more complex tasks in multiple steps.

These voice data comes from Spotify’s AI DJ mode. In May 2025, Spotify introduced a way for premium subscribers to make vocal requests to the English AI DJ by pressing a button on the application. This allows users to change the music, kind or mood of a playlist using a voice command.

Consumer characteristics are not the only way Spotify utilizes AI. During the call, the Exec also said that Spotify uses AI genetically internally in faster original products and creates efficiency in other areas of its business, such as funding.

The quarter, Spotify Hit 276 million subscribersUp to 12% on an annual basis and 696 million monthly active users, but have turned into loss after revenue. The stock decreased by 10% in weak guidance And the comments of Spotify Daniel EK CEO on his misery with the company’s advertising business.
