Meta throws money into the physical and technical infrastructure required to escalate AI’s ambitions. The company reported on Wednesday in the second quarter profits report that it plans to more than double its expenditure on the construction of the AI infrastructure, such as data centers and servers.

“We are currently expecting that 2025 capital spending, including payments for lease funding, ranging from $ 66-72 billion … up to about $ 30 billion annually in the middle,” Meta said.

This is an aggressive development of Capex and the one that Meta plans to continue after 2026. [pursue] Opportunities for additional internet capacity to meet the needs of [its] Artificial attempts at intelligence and business activities. ”

“We expect that the development of the top AI infrastructure will be a key advantage in developing the best AI models and product experiences, so we expect to speed up our investments significantly in 2026 to support this project,” said Susan Li, Meta CFO, during the call of the company.

LI also noted that while Meta expects to fund most of the AI expenditure on its own, the company is exploring ways to work with the financial partners to co-develop data centers.

“We do not have finalized transactions to announce, but we generally believe that there will be models here that will attract significant external funding to support large -scale data centers that are being developed using our ability to build world -class infrastructure, while providing us with flexibility.

Meta has announced two major AI “Titan Clusters”. The first is Prometheus in Ohio, who is ready to be one of the first AI superclusters to hit 1 gigawatt of computing force when it comes online in 2026. In addition, META has been ongoing several other anonymous clusters.

The Meta Data Center projects promise to absorb enough energy to supply millions of homes by pulling this electricity from nearby communities. One of the company’s projects in the Newton County of Georgia already has caused water taps to dry in homes of some residents.

Meta also noted in the report of its profits that it expects that the second highest slowdown in its growth is workers’ compensation, as the company spends millions and possibly even billions to pull the talented engineers and researchers to work for Meta.

Prior to the profits, Zuckerberg shared his vision of “Personal Supervisor”, the idea that AI should help individual people live their best life, mainly through Meta’s smart glasses and acoustic virtual reality.

Meta’s stock increased by 10% after hours, as investors responded to META’s overall return in the quarter and better than expected prospects for the third quarter. Meta reported revenue of $ 47.5 billion in the second quarter, with expectations of between $ 47.5 billion and $ 50.5 billion in a third quarter. The advertisement has led META revenue profits, powered by AI tools-such as translations and creating AI video and video creation to help advertisers create more important and targeted campaigns.

However, the company’s Labs company saw a loss of $ 4.5 billion.

This article was informed to reflect META’s additional routes to finance the AI infrastructure.
