Truecaller interrupts the dialing feature on iOS-shortly two years after the start of the feature-as the Swedish company chooses to focus on its basic offer: Fighting undesirable messages.
On Friday, the company confirmed to TechCrunch that the ability to register calls will no longer be available on iPhones from September 30. Users with saved call records can either download them on their devices, share them through e -mail or messages, or change their storage preference to iCloud to keep the recordings accessible even after the feature is stopped.
Truecaller’s iOS chief Nakul Kabra told TechCrunch that the company made the decision because it wanted to focus on the caller’s ID and automatically exclusion of spam exclusion.
In June 2023, Truecaller began recording calls to iOS for subscribers who pay while reinstating the feature on Android. The application also received support for the transfer of calls inherently. Both call registration and transfer began in India last year.
While calling for calls works perfectly on Android, it is more complicated in iOS, where the Apple operating system does not inherently leave third -party applications. To work around, Truecaller uses a registration line that merges calls for recording – a method that increases both cost and complexity per kabra. These challenges eventually led to the interruption of the feature.
The company has Set up a support page to help users if they have problems during the transition.
Truecaller’s move comes months after Apple’s launch, registration and support for transcription for iPhone users in IOS 18.1 update last year. The inherent function does not require users to connect to a registration line to record the call, as opposed to Truecaller, and also bring transfers operating with Apple Intelligence information.
