Elon Musk says he brings back the vineyard. The owner x announced During the weekend when the company discovered the video file for the popular brief video application, which is considered to have been deleted and works to restore users access.

Vine-something Prodromos in today’s Tiktok, but with a video of only six secondary videos-acquired by Twitter in October 2012 for $ 30 million to expand the ambitions of the social media platform. Unfortunately for the creators and fans of the vine, the company hastened the potential of the application and decided to close Vine in 2016 by limiting all the new downloads. The following year, it was completely interruption, though a user file remained for some time.

Although no longer presence in applications, Vine still has a place in the collective cultural consciousness of the internet. Through online collections of the best vineyards uploaded to YouTube and through the career of many creators who started in the vineyard, the company lives to some extent and its content is still discovered by younger generations.

Musk himself appeared to be interested in bringing the vine back after Twitter was acquired in October 2022. Publishing poll In the application of social media, he asked Twitter users, “Bring Vine back?” to which almost 70% responded “yes”. Axios reported at that time This twitter had dedicated some engineers to work to restart the vine, but nothing ever came from it.

Grok Imagine is AI Vineyard!

Btw, we recently found the vine video file (he thought it had been deleted) and we are working to restore user access so you can post them if you want.

– Elon Musk (@elonmusk) August 2 2025

It is not clear if Musk has any ambitions for a vine beyond his file, however. In the same post for Vine’s restoration, he also crossed the new Grok feature, Grok Imagine, also available to X Premium+subscribers, is “Ai Vine”. This suggests that his interests for creating videos are no longer in human creativity, but in the exhortation of Human AI.

Whether Musk will actually remain the promise remains for discussion, as the X position could be just another way to draw attention to the Grok AI, rather than being representative of a real effort within the company to make old vines available for reinstatement.
