The X Elon Musk is struggling on Android devices in terms of new installations, even when App Store is developing, according to new data from App Intelligence Provider Appfigures. In July 2025, the X shots on Google Play saw a significant decline, as new facilities decreased by 44% on a year -round basis worldwide, even when iOS shooting increased by 15%.

This sharp decline in the facilities pulls the overall average of X, leading to a 26% reduction in total mobile downloads on a annual basis from July. This is even slightly better than the previous month, when total shootings were reduced by 35%, thanks to another sharp decline in Android downloads, which declined by almost half (49%) on an annual basis.

The company does not speculate on what is causing the fall of Android devices beyond the fact that the X application on Android is known to be a painful spot for the company. Recently hired X chief of the product Nikita Bier, known for developing Hacking Teens social applications such as gas and TBH (then selling them), hints that X is trying to address issues in Android, where its application is famous buggy and often crashes.

In a post on the platform, bier announced This X hires for the “Android Dream” team to work to rebuild the X Android app. Recently published X’s iOS application He had just seen a week of record in terms of facilitiesmaybe hoping to draw attention away from the great fall of Android.

It is not clear where Android X Android users are going. Opponent Bluesky has seen growth slowdown in recent months and the Google Play application pulled only 119,000 shootings in July. This is nowhere close to the millions that install x on iOS or Android each month. However, the threads of the Meta Daily Active Users have attracted X to mobile devices, so some Android users might be taken into account there.

In addition to falling Google Play facilities, X is struggling to develop subscriptions, according to Appfigures.

In July, X earned $ 16.9 million in net revenue, from the $ 18.8 million it won in March 2025. However, this was a lightweight sting of the $ 16.8 million in June. (Of course, X continues to earn most of the total revenue from ads, not Premium in-App subscriptions.)

While the declining demand for X on Android is partly responsible for the decline in revenue, X probably loses the payment of customers in Grok. The latter now has its own autonomous application that attracts those who buy X subscriptions mainly for AI Perks.
