On Wednesday when the Google event was announced, the company announced new features on Google Photos that will allow users to ask the application to edit their images for them. Functionality will first start on Pixel 10 devices in the US, allowing people to describe what modifications want to do in the photo either with voice or text.

Google also adds support for C2PA Content Certificates In Google photos. Pixel 10 phones will be the first from Google to adopt this standard, which is designed to improve the transparency around how the images are made and if the AI is involved. On Pixel devices, the C2PA is supported by the camera itself and in any photos taken with it, even if the AI is not used.

The new “Edit with the Question” feature on Google Photos takes advantage of Gemini so you can request changes to a photo using natural language. For example, you can say things like “Remove cars in the background”, or something less specific, such as “restoring this old photo”, and Google Photos will take action. Adding could help those who are not so technologically I understand or have a good understanding of the processing tools to make adjustments to improve their photos.

The operation can handle tasks such as lighting settings and removal of distractions from the images, as well as more creative edits, such as changing the background or adding information to the photo. Google suggests that you could use it to add sunglasses and a party hat to the photo theme, including, for example.

Even if you don’t know what to ask for, you can start with a request for help such as “Make Your Better”, and Google Photos will automatically make changes to the image. The app can also offer suggestions for what to fix and supports tracking requests as you continue to refine your modifications.

Google reports that support for C2PA will first come to Pixel 10 devices and then gradually release in Google photos on iOS and Android in the coming weeks. “Edit with the query” begins on Wednesday.
