Robomart Reveals The New Delivery Robot With A Flat $

RobomarA start that creates a robot self-leading, reveals its latest robot with an ambitious goal of using it to make tradition in demand to be profitable.

The Los Angeles -based company announced the Robomart RM5 patent on Monday. The four -level autonomous vehicle can carry up to 500 pounds and consists of 10 individual cabinets holding customer orders. This structure is designed to allow batch order so that a robot can work in multiple deliveries at the same time.

Robomart plans to use these new robots to operate a custom -based business model similar to those of established food tradition platforms, Ali Ahmed, co -founder and CEO of Robomart, in Techcrunch. This model includes retailers working with Robomart to open their own warehouses to Robomart application – which is similar to applications such as Ubereats or Doordash.

What is The cost structure for customers is different. Each time a customer orders Robomart, they pay a flat $ 3 delivery fee, which the company hopes will be a much more attractive choice than multiple charges usually charged by other delivery applications, Ahmed said.

“We see this as building our own autonomous market,” Ahmed said. “This is something that is quite unique in this area, an autonomous market for custom delivery using a robot self-guiding.”

Robomart plans to start retailers in the first market, Austin, Texas, in the coming months before the launch of the delivery service later this year.

This announcement marks an extension from Robomart’s roots. The company was founded in 2017 and started testing an autonomous “wheel shop” in 2020, which brought a stand -alone mobile store with goods such as pharmacy items and ice cream directly to customers who requested it.

While the company started with the model “Store on Wheels”, this on -demand tradition was a natural development, Ahmed said. He added that the company knew he wanted to deal with custom delivery from the beginning.

Prior to Robomart, Ahmed founded the Dispatch Messenger, a custom delivery platform in the United Kingdom in 2015, Ahmed said his previous company could not make the finances remain profitable while still based on human tradition drivers. This focused on automation to reduce costs. Now, Ahmed believes they have broken the code.

“Our robots bring the cost of a tradition up to 70%,” Ahmed said. “This is a critical difference. If you pay a $ 18 driver per hour, your cost, only for this guide, is $ 9 to $ 10 per hour.”

Robomart has reached this point with very little funding, something Ahmed said he was really proud. The company has increased less than $ 5 million in business funding, such as Hustle Fund, SOSV and Wasabi Ventures, among others.

“We have raised almost $ 4 million in funding and this has allowed us to build five generations of robots and now develop the first autonomous road market,” Ahmed said. “I am proud of our team and it is a proof of how much we could achieve.”

While the custom delivery sector is a full space with several large inheritance players, including Ubereats and GrubHub, Ahmed believes that Robomart brings a completely new product to the market at a price that consumers will be attracted.

“To give them this incredible $ 3 -$ proposal and without any other charges, just [price] The marking on their own can be forbidden expensive, “Ahmed said.” They do not even realize that they are paying for this marking and other fees and tips. This is doing [our model] Very attractive to retailers and customers. ”
