Andreessen Horowitz’s plan to promote its daily arrangement in Washington shows no sign of deceleration, with the company reporting $ 1.49 million in federal pressure so far this year, according to pressure files deposited in Congress. The A16Z even surpasses the Trade Trade team, the National Business Association.

The rate of pressure exercise appears to be accelerated since last year, according to the revision of TechCrunch of Pressure Exercise Revelations. The A16Z spent $ 1.8 million on pressure at all 2024 and $ 950,000 in 2023.

The A16Z pressure strategy stands out among the major VC companies, most of which still report little or no federal pressure. Defense makes its first explicit appearance in the A16Z third trimester report from 2023, which added the law on the authorization of national defense as a specific issue of pressure. The company continued to pressure the annual defense bill in subsequent quarters.

The National Security Council appears for the first time in a deposit covering the second quarter of 2024 and remains on the list this year, a message that the company is raising questions about funding and technology along national security lines.

Although stable co -founders Marc Andreessen and Horowitz resulted in their support for President Donald Trump in the last election, the internal policy team is particularly bilateral, with government leaders hired by both sides of the corridor.

The increase in spending comes as A16Z makes a more aggressive boost to regulated industries, such as defense and industrial base, and both of which are areas of American dynamic practice, and hot-button technologies such as AI. The business has combined this impulse with the attraction of home policy talents. Last week, former Deputy National Security Adviser Anne Neuberger joined as a senior consultant focused on “American dynamism, AI and Cyber” Horowitz told x.

However, dollars for pressure are not associated with influence.

The Founders Fund, for example, mentions little or no federal pressure exercise, but its network has oversized access to the Pentagon and the White House. Partner Trae Stephens helped drive the transition of the 2016 DOD and was transferred in 2024 to the Deputy Minister of Defense, while Michael Kratsios, a long -standing assistant Thiel Capital, served as Minister of Defense for Research and Engineering in 2020 and is now his scientific adviser.

Business funds can affect politics in other ways. Along with the registered pressure, the company also channeled money through political action committees (PACS). More recently, the Wall Street Journal reported This A16Z then helps a new PAC pro-ai network called by driving the future.
