A boot called Skylight It gets a different approach to the small video. Instead of limiting users to an algorithmic main feed, as in social applications, Skylight manufactures a community around human curators who publish and repeat videos to create their own custom foods that can be registered.

The option, which began on Monday in the version 2.0 of the application, could appeal to users who feel a growing sense of concern for traditional social media platforms and their algorithmic manipulations, as well as those that are disturbed by the increase in content that now creates.

Built on the Bluesky social network and the subject of In the protocolSkylight started for the first time in April to offer an open alternative to video applications such as Tiktok. Since then, the application has seen about 240,000 downloads and 100,000 videos uploaded to its platform. Skylight also received timely funding from Mark Cuban and others.

Like others in this time, Skylight’s ability to certify users with their bluesky creditiling gives him a start to build his own users. Today, bluesky is used by the end 38.4 million usersWho can install, execute and connect to an ecosystem of open social applications such as Skylight and others made for videos, photos, blogs, wikis and much more.

With Skylight’s launch 2.0, the company focuses on improving custody. Users can now create their own “curator”, by posting and repeating videos or using third -party tools to create their own custom flow.

Soon, the company will incorporate technology from the customized Feed-Building Graze platform to allow Skylight users to create these custom power supplies in its own application.

To access the edited foods, just slide left of the main page to browse the other options. If you find a curator you want to follow, press the PLUS button (+) to add them to all your power supplies. These curators who are already following will be included in this experience.

The update includes other integration with services made for open social fabric. Skylight is working with live flow platform FlowAnother service based on the same protocol used by bluesky and skylight. By utilizing Streamplace technology, Skylight was able to add a live flow function to its application without having to create functionality.

In addition, the Skylight application offers a full -screen redesigned player and allows users to watch videos in a screen separation window while continuing to browse the profiles or look for other content.

Built by a group of two, co -founders Tori White (CEO) and Reed Harmeyer (CTO), Skylight produces much of its buzz via Tiktok, where AccountWhere he is sharing updates on the progress of the application, he has over 63,000 fans.

These videos can help the spike app app sometimes. Only last week, White tells TechCrunch that the skylight pulled another 20,000 shots, for example, even before the new version arrives. In part, he believes that this is due to consumer interest in abandoning established social platforms to participate in the social communities of open source.

Skylight is a free download on iOS and Android and has a course map that includes support for other features such as music, bookmarks, an account switch and much more.
