Every year, TechCrunch’s Startup Battlefield competition attracts thousands of applicants. We narrow these applications down to the top 200 contenders, and of those, the top 20 compete on the big stage to become the winner, taking home the Startup Battlefield Cup and a $100,000 cash prize. But the remaining 180 startups all blew us away in their respective categories and are competing in their own competition.

Here’s the full list of Media/Entertainment Startup Battlefield 200 picks, along with a note on why they landed in the competition.

Alltroo

What it does: It helps celebrities manage their charitable giving and fan loyalty rewards.

Why it’s notable: Alltroo manages sweepstakes processes involving a celebrity, whether it’s an event with the celebrity or a donation to a charity gift, from promotion to entry management to winner selection.

METAPILL

What it does: Metapyxl protects digital media with content management tools.

Why it’s notable: This platform provides artists and content creators with tools for watermarking, usage tracking, licensing terms and analytics.

Nebula

What it does: A music gallery where fans can support their favorite artists and earn royalties from them as they help them succeed.

Why it’s notable: Fans buy tokens on music tracks at a price set by the artists and can earn royalties when that track is broadcast.

Oriane

What it does: Oriane offers a search tool that can find brands and trends in videos using natural language search.

Why it’s notable: From tracking a brand’s mentions to tracking content creators, video search has remained difficult. This platform offers search for text, images and video clips with artificial intelligence.

Othelia Technologies

What it does: AI-powered storytelling platform that helps people create.

Why it’s notable: Othelia is designed to map out a story’s structure, find connections, and provide an overview so storytellers can build, edit, and collaborate with complex worlds.

Transitional Forms

What does he do?: Transitional Forms runs live simulations from prompts.

Why it’s notable: This patent-pending framework allows anyone to create, mix and export live video simulations from a mobile device. The startup says it’s building SocialTV, the future of entertainment.
