Apple introduces a new reason to upgrade the subscription news offer, Apple News+: More games. On Thursday, the company announced The addition of the emoji game, an original title that will be involved in his other games, including the crossword puzzle, the crossword puzzle, the Sudoku and the Quarterial Word Games, both in the US and in Canada in English.
Games associated with other services have proven a successful strategy to attract users and keep them committed, as the New York Times has discovered and even LinkedIn. Apple will not share user numbers around the games, but it says that many people subscribe to News+ only for puzzles.
Released to coincide with World Emoji DayThe new emoji game is part of the logic, part of the word game inspired by how we use emojis to communicate with each other. In this daily game, players try to solve phrases using emojis to complete the puzzle in the minimum number of moves.
For example, if the word “appears” appeared on the puzzle, you may see the letters “AP” followed by four empty spaces. Then you will drag the emoji for the pear in the gaps to complete the word. Of course, the phrases in the emoji game will be a little harder to guess. In addition, the emoji to solve the puzzle will often be found in combinations of emoji or those that include a little abstract thought to find the answer. The word for emoji can also be used to fill in blank spaces that have other letters between them.
If you are stuck, you can reveal an indication under the phrase, but that will cost you one of your movements.

There are many phrases to resolve each day to complete the full puzzle. Completion in six moves is considered a perfect score and leaderboards help you watch your streaks and how your results are compared to friends and other users. In the upcoming iOS 26, you will be able to challenge friends to play with you using the new game app.
To make the game more special to Apple, it also utilizes recent imported Genmojior the custom emojis created using Apple Intelligence, the company’s AI. This extends emojis available beyond the less than 2,000 this ship with the emoji keyboard. For example, you may see a blender Genmoji and a tomato emoji to make the word “tower”.

The game is built by Apple and the puzzles are designed in collaboration with a third party, The puzzle society (now Golf). The game is also edited by Apple Puzzle authors. It is now running Apple News+ subscribers in the US and Canada on iPhone, iPad and Mac. (Users on iOS 18.4 and later will not need to update their application to access the game, but the older versions will.)
The News+ subscription also comes with access to more than 400 premium publishers, narrated sound, local news, sports and, more recently, recipe saving, Apple News+ Food.
